Manual update RC33 for G1 Android Phone

My first update to G1

1. download https://android.clients.google.com/updates/signed-PLAT-RC33-from-RC30.f06aa9b3.zip to the desktop

2. rename to update.zip
Double check you have not ended up with update.zip.zip

3. connect G1 to Computer and mout the phone

4. Copy the update.zip to sd card root.
Do not create any folder

5. Unmount/unplug the USB cable

6. Phone to be up for update so connect charging cable

7. Hold home and then press power on button.

Hold Home till you see exclamation mark

8. Open keyboard and press ALT - S
This will start the update
you will see images of unzipping contents and then writting to chip

9. Phone will reboot itself do not turn off or retry the reboot.

My udpate took quite some time after reboot before phone displayed the content. Have patience may take 10-15 min as well.
